It's a diary of my normal life, the 5%. Just posting my replies to the monthly newsletter questions between the family and cousins. Dragon comments are after, "In the record".
How has
the weather been where you live? It's been really hot. It was in the 80's. Sorry but us folks in the Bay Area are wimps.
Was it better or worse someplace else
that you travelled to recently? After years of vacation to various parts of the world, the best weather I have experienced in the summer is in the Bay Area.
Will you be celebrating Halloween this year? Nah. Are there any Halloween
memories, costumes, recipes or traditions that you can share? Yes, but my desktop crashed and is in the shop now. Borrowed my son's laptop for now.
Tell us about the spooky Halloween-themed movies or TV shows that you
watch this time of year. Oh, and please do tell us about the ones that
scared the bejeebers out of you. I have only watched one spooky movie, called The Banana Splits Movie. The trailer is here
and "R rated". The movie was not scary, but was trauma inducing. None
of the actors were able to invoke true horror that I could emotionally
feel. But the way they killed each other was not something I would dwell
on. In short, I was not scary, but I felt ill by the killings.
Do you have a ghost story or a Halloween story to write about?
I use clairvoyance to interact with unseen beings everyday. I have a
whole blog about my avatar adventures, which I try to keep out of the
newsletter. I will list links of some of the more interesting stuff that
is calm and easy to understand.
How about a TV show or movie that you enjoyed?
I have been watching cat shorts on YouTube. I have never paid attention
to cats, much less pet them. So I turned to cat shorts to see what I am
missing. Cats act way too human, like very human. They have control
over their emotions and the actions of others. They can discern details I
thought only humans could do. I am not freaked out by them, just never
paid attention to them. Below are two good place for cat shorts: https://www.youtube.com/@ WhiskerWonderland-ds9lv https://www.youtube.com/@ CatsFunnyFolder
Have you taken up one or more new projects or hobbies? Projects...did you say projects?" How does the wheelbarrow work going up stairs? Most excellent! Watch video below or here: https://www.youtube.com/ shorts/1RmMHIUuB5c
I was worried that after making the ramps and frame for the buckets see
pic, that it would not work. We had to remove the brake from the left
wheel because it would catch against the wood wall. Once removed it
works well. We will be moving all material via the electric wheelbarrow
rope pulley system. It takes 7-8 dirt trips up the ramp to fill the back
of the truck, which is around 2 hours to do. The dirt weight is around
1000 to 1500 lbs, or 0.5-0.75 tons.
The
three foot rule: Three weeks ago, Ben and I were laying out the East
side steps. Then I realized the fence was too close to the three foot
walkway. I sat down and finally said to Ben, "We need to make concrete
beams under the fence here to keep the neighbors dirt on their side of
the fence." But there is good news, I got to buy another tool, a Makita
concrete vibrator. See pic. I know to vibrate concrete to get the air out
but never realized how much easier it would make the work. Now we pour
the concrete into the form to the top. Vibrate the form and rebar until
it stops settling. Then add an inch more concrete and finish trowel the
top. YEAH!. Concrete walls here we come.
Ben
and I did a massive clean up the back fence by the apple tree. See pic.
What I did not understand was that the apple tree had deep cracks in
its bark. I went online and read that if a tree's foliage does not cover
the tree branches the sun can cause the back to crack. I had no
understanding that the ivy growing on the tree was protecting the apple
tree's branch. We left a small patch of ivy under the tree to help the
tree survive.
I finally did my mode to my metric sander.
Lastly, what else have you been up to? Practicing my Canadian by watching this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=o34VzENNPic
Two funnies...maybe?
